Scout Leeson

INTRODUCING THE EQUESTRIA GEMS! The Mane 6 as Crystal Gems! Self explanatory, really. All of them are Crystal Gems, as such, all have the star insignia somewhere on them instead of something else. An interesting design choice I decided would be that, similar to how all of the Mane 6 are (or were, not counting Alicorn Twilight) two of each, three of the Equestria Gems have defined lips like Garnet and Amethyst, three don't. Three have eyes like Sapphire and three don't. I have a mythology set up for them already, which comes together with all of them, but I have yet to define their homeworld as Earth, considering the backstory is slightly different and clashing slightly with Steven Universe's events, and as such, may not take place on the same world as Steven's, at least, not without significant alterations to the Equestria Gems canon. Despite this, I don't want to specify it as not Earth, as it could still be Earth, and I don't want to ruin the idea of crossovers. And I would love to see people use the Equestria Gems canon if they so desire, seriously! All I ask is that you try to stay with the ideas I've lined out, and feel free to ask questions about everything! You can absolutely use these designs, IF YOU CREDIT ME AND RESPECT MY WISHES! Since this is kind of my idea and design (this specific canon, I do not own the idea of the Mane 6 as Gems, obviously) I would like if you asked questions about this! In short:
Oh hello, look! Not Gems! Yep... Worldbuilding time! It's time to introduce to you more of the setting of Equestria Gems; Perryville. And that starts with its residents. You may see ponies you know in new lights, or old lights in a human package, and even some you might not expect (unless you automatically expect everything) and yes, all of them will have natural human skin tone and hair colors. Generally, the Equestria Gems, or as everyone in Perryville calls them, 'the local crazy candy colored rock people', are well known and liked... though they're considered a highly eccentric local 'curiosity' and they do wish that monster creatures wouldn't go on rampages across town, but at least the candy colored rock people are kind enough to catch them, with minimal to major damage to property.
Scootaloo's human counterpart, Scout, is the group namer of the 15 year old Cool Crusaders, while Annabelle came up with the idea when they were 8, it was Scout's idea to call them the Crusaders, not knowing what it meant, but that she'd heard it before and it sounded awesome, and Serena explained what a 'crusader' was and they all agreed it sounded cool, and thus, 'Cool Crusaders'. It was a team effort, but Scout totally claims responsibility for the group being as awesome as it is. After all, Annabelle is the one who built the treehouse, Serena was the one who brought them all together, she has to have some credit going for herself... yeah, Scout is a little bit insecure, in all honesty. It's not like it's particularly unprecedented, what with being adopted by the local school teacher Cheryl Leeson, and being disabled, as much as her friends insist she's awesome, she can't help but feel like she has something to prove. She's quite fast on her feet, though honestly she wishes she had a better prosthetic leg, like racers, but considering her moms salary... yeah, she's lucky they're good for running.
Being adopted when she was only 7, Scout has been living with Cheryl for most of her life, but still doesn't entirely feel comfortable calling her mom or treating her as such. It's just weird, being the daughter of the only teacher in town who basically handles everything up till high school with Mrs. Richwood and a few other staff, since Perryville is so small, and of course, Cheryl being Cheryl, she can be a bit overly cheerful for her daughter's tastes. Not only that, but it's never really helped her reputation with some of the less.. kind students of Perryville's school that she's 'Cheryl's little special needs case'... even though one of them is also the daughter of one of the teachers... trust me, those two are just no good. Scout tries to rebel, but Cheryl was disappointingly ok with Scout dying her hair purple... she tries.
She's best friends with Serena, since both of them got teased as little kids, they stuck together  like glue, and Annabelle was quickly a part of their group as well, and Scout quickly became best buds with the shortest member of the group, being a bit tall for her age just like Annabelle is short for hers, they find themselves ribbing each other for their respective heights often. Plus, Annabelle's sporty, and sure, Serena's her first friend, but Scout appreciates having a friend who can keep up in physical activities as much as Scout can. But even if they have differences, all three are best friends and they would never accept being friends with just one of each other. They're Crusaders together (sure, the term Crusaders is kind of meaningless in this case, but it sounds cool and that's their group name, dangit, it's important!). They're definitely gonna be best friends forever.
Serena was the first to introduce Scout to their current obsession with becoming magical girls like the local crazy candy colored rock people, what with Serena's love of cartoons, she knew exactly what the Equestria Gems were (as far as they know, I mean), but Scout was probably the most enamored with one of the Gems; Ammolite. From the second she saw the blue skinned, rainbow haired girl, Scout knew she wanted to be just like her; Ammolite was fast, cool, awesome, radical.. and she could fly! None of the others could do that, it's just too awesome to describe. Sure, she doesn't have a weapon besides those wings, but she still manages to kick butt!... kind of reminds her of herself, honestly. Which is why she's gonna be a part of that group if it's the last thing she does; she's hoping for a pair of wings of her own. If she can't have two legs, she could have two wings and then it wouldn't matter that she only has one leg! Cause nobody besides her and Ammolite would be able to fly.
Scout helps Annabelle out with their.. questionable traps for the monsters around town, even though so far they're far better at human catching than monster catching, she's sure they'll get it one day. And if a few people get caught in a cage, hey, it's kind of funny. She's cool with a few trapped townspeople if it means they help out Ammolite and her friends.
Please don't complain about how I drew them or what race they are, I really don't care, it's ok if you headcanon otherwise, but in the Equestria Gems universe, Scootaloo/Scout is mixed race and has a prosthetic leg to mirror how Scootaloo in canon is disabled.
