Snowdrop, full name Snowdrop Smiles, was the creator of snowflakes and deceased lover of Luna.
She was born blind and sickly,though she was exceptionally good at cloud building, most ponies thought that she would get her cutie mark for it, but it never came. During her tribes centennial gift to the goddesses, she was determined to bring a gift, though nopny believed she could do anything, as she was blind, they figured that she couldn't create something worth anything to a goddess. As Snowdrop takes place (in my headcanon) during the century after the first hearths warming eve, ponies still feared the snow, and the windigoes preyed on the fear. Snowdrop thought of a way to fight them, with the joy of her snowflakes, she thought that they could fight them off. She carved a single snowflake, and brought it to the ceremony. Luna, already under a small influence of Nightmare, heard the speech she gave, and it drove away the nightmare to the deepest part of her mind. Her gift was accepted, and she began to carve them, millions of them were made, and placed inside a magic jar that could hold them all. She and Luna became lovers, and Snowdrop died while luna was raising them moon for the night, and she never got to say goodbye. This was the nail that drove Nightmare into her heart, and luna became nightmare moon.
