Description

Welcome to the Miracleverse! AKA, the Disliked Ships AU, but I don't use this as a platform for hate. While the universe is slightly... twisted, they are all options that could have happened in the main TFIMverse. They're a chance to do things with the... standard ships that people have, and using them in new ways, as well as a platform for interesting characters. I want to do some different things with the designs, so I may note the standard designs I tried to avoid with each design. These designs have been done for... an embarrassing amount of time, so expect a lot of the designs at once, I finally decided to upload them. This one was, coincidentally, drawn in February the 5th this year.

Maigold's design is very complex in a way; I based her physical design on my childhood definitions of what 'Love Poison' really means. I'm not entirely sure I want to blow the cover. I've favorited art of the inspirations recently, but it's both extremely unsubtle and subtle, and her name is a blatant clue. It's obvious when you figure it out. On her colors, they're probably my favorite thing about her design; her entire color scheme is from the eyes Cheerilee and Big Macintosh made when they were first dosed with the love poison. Her eye colors are the darkest and lightest of the heart eyes in the 'Want It Need It' sequence Stranger Danger Twilight caused. She has Big Macintosh's single eye shine as well.
Maigold Apple is the accidentally conceived child of Cheerilee and Big Macintosh, and the oldest character of the Miracleverse. She was conceived during 'Hearts & Hooves Day', and as such, is, well, the result of a date rape drug. Now, just because she was born of a love poison, it does not mean that she is loveless. She is a normal filly. She's completely normal, if ditzy. She makes potions for her talent... her life is owed to a potion, so she's sort of... paying back the favor, in a way. She knows how she was born was wrong, but she doesn't feel personally responsible. She's very much a lover, not a fighter, she tends to annoy other ponies with her cheerful nature. She lives with her mother mostly, as her parents split up on amicable if uncomfortable terms, she sees her father quite often, sharing some custody. She's a bit simple, but knows chemicals like the back of her hoof... though that's to be expected from a potionmaker. Coming to her with your relationship issues is actually a good idea. She's listened to her parents discussions of their feelings so often that she understands it. But under the peppy exterior, she had a lot of issues with love.... learning about things like that when you're so young, that some kinds of love aren't willing, makes her very nervous about relationships. Which is why she loves to counsel relationships, and occasionally forces herself into it, unfortunately. She just... worries about other ponies being in the wrong kind of relationship, and has issues with letting others fix their relationships on their own. Needless to say, she hasn't decided to get into any relationships herself.
Cheerilee and Big Macintosh were a couple for a while before Maigold was born, but they always felt something worrying them at the back of their heads about how they loved each other. For a while, they stayed together out of an obligation to Mai', and eventually broke up. The question? Were they in love for real.. or was it still the potion? They couldn't go for the rest of their lives with the possibility hanging over their heads that they never loved each other for real, it's thing to go through the rest of your life having to know that it's entirely possible that you don't actually willingly love your spouse and are under the effects of a spell, and never know for sure. Almost creepier than knowing for certain that you are. The two split up, but they are on friend terms, neither blame one another (nor the CMC, either), and both understand that their decision was right and mutual. They understand it, and keep out of each other's way... if only because they're still a little afraid.
