Diopside

INTRODUCING THE EQUESTRIA GEMS! The Mane 6 as Crystal Gems! Self explanatory, really. All of them are Crystal Gems, as such, all have the star insignia somewhere on them instead of something else. An interesting design choice I decided would be that, similar to how all of the Mane 6 are (or were, not counting Alicorn Twilight) two of each, three of the Equestria Gems have defined lips like Garnet and Amethyst, three don't. Three have eyes like Sapphire and three don't. I have a mythology set up for them already, which comes together with all of them, but I have yet to define their homeworld as Earth, considering the backstory is slightly different and clashing slightly with Steven Universe's events, and as such, may not take place on the same world as Steven's, at least, not without significant alterations to the Equestria Gems canon. Despite this, I don't want to specify it as not Earth, as it could still be Earth, and I don't want to ruin the idea of crossovers. And I would love to see people use the Equestria Gems canon if they so desire, seriously! All I ask is that you try to stay with the ideas I've lined out, and feel free to ask questions about everything! You can absolutely use these designs, IF YOU CREDIT ME AND RESPECT MY WISHES! Since this is kind of my idea and design (this specific canon, I do not own the idea of the Mane 6 as Gems, obviously) I would like if you asked questions about this! In short:
Discord=Diopside (Black/Brown Star Diopside, specifically his main body Gem)
The main villain, or, greater villain, at least for most of the Equestria Gems story, Diopside is a.... strange... Gem?... Well, he's a corrupted Fusion Monster. . Yeah, strange thing... creature... person. Another strange thing is that he, is, well... a he. Gems on the whole identify as female. A male Gem is... practically unheard of, considering not many Gems even have a concept of 'male' before Earth. But, he is a he, just as much as he is inexplicable. Diopside just... is.
Long, long ago, when the last vestiges of Sunstone and Moonstone's existence was scrubbed out of the Diamond Authority's history books and most Gems memories, there were a few who... refused to forget, who refused to obey, refused to even keep their mouths shut about it... Something had to be done. They were strong Gems, all of them possessing strange and extreme powers, shattering them would be harder than they wanted it to be... but corrupting them wasn't enough. Why not try something... interesting. A way of fusion that corrupted them, permanently weaving them together into one being, called 'melding'. It... well, worked. The rebels, had become a rebel. One, not even quite a fusion, entity. The fusion held their minds together enough that he was no mere monster, but one. One incurably insane, overpowered, unpoofable (being fused permanently with so many Gems, he is held together and shattering one gem would only corrupt it further), Fusion Monster. One that, for all the trouble they went through, at least no longer cared for things like 'truth' or even Sunstone or Moonstone. The process was long, and he remained dormant in his Gems for many years, but awoke to Pink Diamond's colony being formed.
Needless to say, they may have made a mistake. Left on Earth(?) when the four Diamonds abandoned it, more trouble to shatter than it would be worth, if possible, Diopside enjoys using his myriad powers to torment the Gems left behind, the Gems who had not heeded the sudden call for evacuation, given without explanation, often torturing them into... joining the fun. Corrupting Gems because he considers corruption to be a more fun way to live, and.. curiosity. How will one Gem react to corruption compared to the next? Being made of so many corrupted parts, he knows that there are just so many ways to be a corrupted Gem, so much more than as a normal Gem... it's fun.
His mind is abuzz with shattered fragments of his former components, but he prefers to think of it as a party in his head rather than anything else. A party of incurable lunatics... The best kind of party! And why not bring others in on the party, learn how to be crazy like him? He's free roaming Earth(?) and sending his corrupt Gems the Equestria Gems way; they're the most fun he's had in ages. Or, ever, really. But who's counting?
He isn't quite as omnipotent as Discord, not being a literal God, but he is extremely powerful, given each Gem he once was was a powerful one in their own right, his powers extending from levitation to teleportation to holograms to more unique powers like 4th Sight (The same powers Sardonyx has) and his favorite, the ability to affect other Gems minds. Slowly inching them into corruption.... it's fun!
Design-wise, a lot of effort went into Diopside's creation, having been a concept in the works since I finished Chalcedony, the idea of a fusion monster/experiment that itself was corrupted immediately came to mind for Discord's insane mismatched appearance. I gave his many parts different patterns to evoke more of a sense that he was made of different pieces. I tried for an effect, especially with his face, of humanity/gem...anity... He looks just Gem/Human enough with the nose and face that it's kind of like, not a snout but a jaw pulled out. I felt like he looks just a tiny bit more humanoid-ish. Like, emphasized on the ish, just... something a bit differenty. Different is the key with Diopside. His 'lion' arm was inspired by Jasper's arm during her fusion with the corrupted monster. His eyes are intentionally lopsided in size, with one having Sapphire pupils and the other having a simple pupil. His deer antlers are now a quartz outgrowth and his antelope horn a bunch of bauble Pearls.
I have no names for the Gems he''s composed of besides the center Diopside Gem, and I also wish to remain silent as to how many Gems he's made of, if his tail ridges are one Gem or more, or if the pearls of his horn are just pearls or Pearls, as neither are decided or important. But here are his main components/main Gem locations:
Head= Tooth Gem (Discord's snaggletooth)
Center Body= Diopside Gem (Placed randomly to evoke strangeness)
'Lion' Arm= Palm Gem (Emulating the pawpad)
'Eagle' Arm= Hand Gem (Simple placement)
'Dragon' Leg= Claw Gem (Back claw replacement
'Deer' Leg= Hoof Gem (Literally his hoof)
'Dragon' Tail= Ridge Gem(s?) (His back spikes)
'Bat' Wing= Joint Gem
'Bird' Wing= Joint Pearl
'Antelope' Horn= Possible Pearls???
